It was the only weekend we’ve got to spend together for B’s short visit. I was checking out places that are interesting that we could pig out. The Mámor Chocolates & High Tea Szalón was one of the place that I would love to try out.
On the fine afternoon I decided to pop by this high tea saloon but not expecting a table for both of us without a reservation. It was quite late for an afternoon tea and we managed to get a table for two without a reservation. I was surprised and of course I would never say no since a table is available.
That one thing about this place is, you choose from the options of traditional 3 courses high tea, afternoon/morning tea, or chocolate high tea. We chose the afternoon/morning tea.
We started with a 3 tiers, which came with 4 egg and salad ribbon sandwich, 4 scones with cream and jam, and 4 cookies. This is how our first 3 tiers look like.
Nothing much to praise on the sandwich but I love the scones to bits. The cream and jam complement the plain scones so well. One of the cookies had a strong almond after taste which I couldn’t stand. B’s responsibility to finish it for me FHL. hahaha
We ended the high tea with 2 petit desserts. These desserts was decided by the chef and what was out from over for the day.
Most importantly, we had free flow of tea. I found my favourite tea from here. It is the French Earl Grey they served. It has a faint hint of rose and calendula in it. I asked to pack away a bag of loose French Earl Grey.
It is on a pricey side but I thought it was quite a good experience. I personally love it there with the lady that served us would make some small talk about the weather (duh, that’s all we do when we see people out there) and would explain to us what we were served. What more to say when I found a bag of tea that I love.
